SOCKEYE CL+
SOFT WHITE WINTER TWO-GENE IMI WHEAT
Sockeye CL+ is a soft white winter two-gene Imidazolinone tolerant (Clearfield) wheat, developed
and released in 2020 by the Agricultural Research Center of Washington State University. Sockeye
CL+ has demonstrated excellent tolerance to imazamox herbicide applications under numerous field
trials. This cultivar is broadly adapted to dryland production regions of the Pacific Northwest. Sockeye
CL+ also responds very well to increased management and precipitation, often demonstrating highend
yield potential under these conditions. Sockeye CL+ combines a disease resistance package
needed for diverse production, with tolerances to stripe rust, snow mold, Cephalosporium stripe, and
strawbreaker foot rot. The combination of excellent agronomic, disease, and end-use characteristics of
Sockeye CL+, along with tolerance to imazamox, makes it an ideal cultivar for production in systems
looking to reduce weed pressure while maximizing profits.
