PIRANHA CL+
SOFT WHITE WINTER TWO-GENE IMI WHEAT
Piranha CL+ is a soft white winter two-gene Imidazolinone tolerant (Clearfield) wheat,
developed and released in 2020 by the Agricultural Research Center of Washington State
University. Piranha CL+ has excellent resistance to imazamox herbicide applications under
recommended label rates. This cultivar is adapted to various dryland production regions of
the Pacific Northwest, and does very well in production zones where emergence from deep
planting is problematic. Piranha CL+ combines very high grain yield and test weight with good
end-use quality and very good disease resistance. The excellent agronomic and disease package
of Piranha CL+, along with tolerance to imazamox, makes it an ideal cultivar for growers looking
to maximize profits and minimize weed pressure on their farms.
